Season 1: Fire Winds

The Chronicle of the Fire Winds

The world, the dragon, and the wind that carries its breath across Aethra. Season 1 lore, written as the story unfolds and subject to change as the world does.

Aethra

Aethra was forged in the exact nexus where the Sun and the Moon sealed eternity. But perfection crumbled, and ages of decay have devoured the magic of our ancestors.

We are the Strollers. Immortals born of light and shadow, asleep in stone, awaiting a call we never wished to hear.

The seal has been broken. The dragon Ignakor has awakened, and the Winds of Fire now devour the land below. Our only protection is Oria, the city anchored in the clouds by the ancient Runes of Wind. Here, the air is still pure, but the winds cannot hold back the flames forever.

Awaken, Stroller. The Soul Flow demands payment. The journey into the abyss has begun, and the crown of this world will only be forged in the ashes.

Oria, the Suspended Refuge

High above the clouds, where the air is still clean and the architecture is ancient stone bound together by wind magic, Oria is where every Stroller's journey begins. It is the last place the Winds of Fire have yet to reach in full force, and for now, that makes it the closest thing this world has to safe.

But safety in Aethra is borrowed, not given. Every Stroller who wakes on its shattered fringes knows the descent is inevitable.

Alduris, the Green Cradle

Down on solid ground, a vast ancestral forest of colossal trees surrounds Alduris, a fortified camp standing against a corruption that creeps in from the treeline. It is the first real contact with the world below the clouds, and the first place where the line between civilization and wilderness stops being clean.

Parts of the forest are already darkening. The beasts that live there are growing restless, maddened by the soot Ignakor's fires carry on the wind.

Tergoth, the Calcinated Ruins

Further still, the land gives out entirely. The sky over Tergoth burns red and black with smoke, rivers of hardened lava scar the ground, and ash falls constantly, like snow that never melts.

This is the last outpost before Ignakor's lair: a brutal, opressive place held together by desperate settlers and worn-down soldiers who know exactly how close they are to the source of everything burning around them.

Evernity and the Soul Flow

Every Stroller carries Evernity, the life-force that marks them as something more than mortal, and something the ash-corrupted creatures of the lower world have learned to hunger for. What is spent doesn't always return, and the Soul Flow that binds it to a body demands its due.

It is this cost, more than any decree or law, that shapes how Strollers live, fight and choose what they're willing to risk as they push deeper into a world that is actively trying to burn them out of it.

Symbols & Relics

Artifacts of Aethra

The runic script that marks Aethra's seal is not decoration. Every glyph on it, and on the relics carried by Strollers, means something.

The Stroll of Eternity emblem, bearing the runic inscription

The Runes of the Seal

ᚹᚺᛖᚱᛖ ᚦᛖ ᛊᚢᚾ ᚨᚾᛞ ᚦᛖ ᛗᛟᛟᚾ ᛗᛖᛖᛏ ᚠᛟᚱ ᛖᛏᛖᚱᚾᛁᛏᛁ

Where the Sun and the Moon meet for eternity. That phrase, carved in a runic script older than any Stroller alive, circles the emblem that marks Aethra itself: the seal forged at the nexus where Sol and Moon sealed eternity, before the ages of decay began.

Four runes sit within that inscription, two bound to the Sun and two to the Moon, and every one of them still means something to the Strollers who read it.

Solstice

Sun

ᛋᛟᛚᛋᛏᛁᚲᛖ

The moment the Sun reaches its highest or lowest point in the sky. It marks the peak of power, the turning of the seasons, and the balance held between light and dark.

Beacon

Sun

ᛒᛖᚨᚲᛟᚾ

A light sent out to guide something home. It stands for hope, direction, and clarity found in the middle of an eternal darkness.

Lustre

Moon

ᛚᚢᛋᛏᚱᛖ

The reflected brilliance of a surface, the quality of light rather than its source. It stands for a quieter kind of beauty, the soft glow of the Moon that illuminates without ever burning.

Crescent

Moon

ᚲᚱᛖᛋᚲᛖᚾᛏ

The waxing phase, the Moon gaining size night by night. It stands for growth, renewal, and the start of a new cycle, or a new journey.

The Evernity medallion, a cosmic relic sealed in ancestral runic silver

Evernity

A piece of the universe in your hands.

The rarest trade relic in all of Aethra shares its name with the life-force every Stroller carries, and that is no coincidence. Of unknown origin, it is said to have been forged in the abyss of the universal depths, at the exact nexus where the Sun and the Moon merge into one another.

It manifests as a cosmic medallion, sealed inside a capsule of ancestral runic silver. Its surface carries four phrases, two given to the Sun and two to the Moon, each rendered in the same runic script that circles Aethra's own seal.

Sun (ᛊᛟᛚ)

“The Sun shines in every Evernity.”

ᛏᚻᛖ ᛋᚢᚾ ᛋᚻᛁᚾᛖᛋ ᛁᚾ ᛖᚠᛖᚱᚦ ᛖᚠᛖᚱᚾᛁᛏᚦ

“Sun gold, eternal worth.”

ᛋᚢᚾ ᚷᛟᛚᛞ, ᛖᛏᛖᚱᚾᚨᛚ ᚹᛟᚱᚦ

Moon (ᛗᛟᛟᚾ)

“The Moon guards your Evernity.”

ᛏᚻᛖ ᛗᛟᛟᚾ ᚷᚢᚨᚱᛞᛋ ᛦᛟᚢᚱ ᛖᚠᛖᚱᚾᛁᛏᚦ

“Pay the Moon with your soul.”

ᛒᚨᛦ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛗᛟᛟᚾ ᚹᛁᚦ ᛦᛟᚢᚱ ᛋᛟᚢᛚ

At the medallion's center sits the infinity symbol, and among Strollers it has a name: the Soul Flow, the Cycle of Exchange. "Pay the Moon with your soul" is not a warning so much as a description, because the Evernity relic is not just a currency. It is a receptacle.

The soul enters, and power leaves it. The gold enters, and the eternity remains inside. What the medallion holds is transmutable by nature, and every Stroller who trades in it is, knowingly or not, a party to it. To carry one is to carry a piece of the Stroll itself, the endless walk with no true end, and to be bound, however loosely, to a cosmic contract that outlasts whoever is holding the coin.

The Fame Coin, engraved with eight virtues and crowned with laurels

The Fame Coin

The crown of a journey begun again.

A Fame Coin is given the moment a Stroller chooses to reset their own trajectory, to walk away from everything built so far and start again from nothing. It is a highly valuable coin. Its accumulation grants real social standing, and it can be traded for items unlike anything else in Aethra.

Eight words are engraved into its surface, each one a virtue a Stroller earns rather than inherits.

Glory

ᚷᛚᛟᚱᛁ

The brightest shine earned through great deeds.

Honor

ᚺᛟᚾᛟᚱ

The integrity and respect that a reputation is built on.

Esteem

ᛖᛋᛏᛖᛖᛗ

The worth and regard society chooses to give you.

Renown

ᚱᛖᚾᛟᚹᚾ

A name carried across eras and across lands.

Legacy

ᛚᛖᚷᚨᚲᛁ

What endures, the way the union of the Sun and the Moon endures.

Virtue

ᚠᛁᚱᛏᚢᛖ

The moral strength that draws followers and influence.

Herald

ᚺᛖᚱᚨᛚᛞ

The one who announces your arrival, the weight your presence carries.

Echo

ᛖᚲᚺᛟ

The sound of your actions, still resonating long after.

What the Coin Depicts

The Crown and the Laurels

At the top of the coin, sovereignty over one's own destiny. A Stroller who resets is not merely starting over, they are claiming the throne of their own story, and the laurels mark conquests carried across every era already lived.

The Central Jewel

A violet gem at the heart of the coin, the Core of Transmutation: the pure essence of the Stroller that survives the reset intact, whatever else is left behind.

Six Pink Gems

The six Active Attributes, Glory, Honor, Esteem, Renown, Virtue and Herald, the vitality and social influence a Stroller carries forward.

Two Blue Gems

The two Eternal Pillars, Legacy and Echo, unchanging even after the shine of glory has faded.

The Entwined Sun and Moon

The Sun, gold and fire, is Present Power, the energy spent right now. The Moon, silver and crescent, is the Past made hidden, the old trajectory now reflected back in the new journey. Together they mean day and night, beginning and end, are one and the same. A reset does not erase what came before. It fuses it into what comes next.

“The crown does not belong to those who finish the journey, but to those who have the courage to begin it again like a king.”
